COVID-19 has changed the world for everyone! If there is one date that I will never forget, and that is March 11, 2020. On that day at about 3:45pm, I was at work when one of my staff called me to let me know that the Ontario provincial has announced that all schools would be closed for three weeks starting March 13th. She wanted to know how that would affect our program. You see, my other profession sees me managing programs that works with children and their families and some of our locations are in schools.
Over week following that announcement, I watched as the world come to a stand still. I like everyone else was glued to the news, listening to the updates as this deadly virus ravaged the world. Now more than a year later we are finally starting to see light at the end of the tunnel.
There is so much controversy surrounding the COVID-19 vaccine. I was one of the first to say no thank you to the vaccine but then I recognized that in order to be able to spend time with my family without putting them at any kind of risk, I must take it. After a year of not being able to sit and chat with my sister, give her a hug, not having my nephew or brother visit, or even just hanging out with any of them, I was ready to take my chances with the vaccine.
I recently rolled up my sleeve because I am so ready to go back to life post COVID-19.
